What is holding you back from having it?
Is it YOU?
According to Hal Elrod in his book The Miracle Morning, 95% of our society will never create and live the life they really want.
I have to say I hope the percentage isn't quite that high, but I have to agree with the overall premise of his statement. There are things in my life I'd like to achieve that my past behaviors were not leading me to, and I've had enough conversations with people in my 44 years to know not everyone is currently happy.
I am the only one who can change the path to future outcomes. I can't sit and wait for it to magically appear or put it off until the day I look back with regret that I never took action.
As Elrod says, "if we don't commit to thinking and living differently than most people now, we are setting ourselves up to endure a life of mediocrity, struggle, failure and regret."
Did I want to change my health habits two weeks before Christmas? No. Not really. But I visualized what I wanted for my life NOW, in the spring, as the weather is warming up, and I want to be active outside. Guess what. It took me five months of focus, but I am close to where I want to be.
Do I want to settle for less than I truly want and am capable of in my future: physically, mentally, emotionally, relationally or financially? No. I see travel, peace of mind, and time to visit my daughter at college in my future. We use a financial planner to be ready for retirement, so why wouldn't I make a plan for all the other aspects of my life?
Don't hold yourself back. There is never a "right" or "perfect" time to start working on whatever it is you want. Don't hold yourself back. Visualize where you want to be then take the first step. You got this.
